Ford Motor Co. Reports April Sales in China

Ford Motor Co. sold almost 94,000 vehicles in April in China, surging 11% from a year ago. Shares drifted slightly higher intraday. “Ford sales bounced back strongly in April in China with gains across our lineup,” Peter Fleet, a vice-president of marketing, sales and service for Asia Pacific at Ford. “We expect to gain momentum as we launch new products and new models.”

Monthly sales for Changan Ford Automobile totaled more than 62,000 vehicles, increasing 6% from a year earlier, the company said in a statement. Jiangling Motor Corpn sold more than 25,000 vehicles in April, a 15% jump from April 2016. Ford now expects China industry sales volume to be 28.2 million in 2017.
